Discovery Homeschool Academy offers Pre-k to 9th grade students creatively challenged, hands-on activities. Brain based research shows that students learn and retain information best when using all their senses. They enjoy singing songs, playing games, participating in experiments, creating beautiful art, computer projects and actively moving through the day. All this active energy is creatively channeled while the students are learning grade level standards that are age appropriate.
We partner with families to reinforce ideas and concepts that they are learning within that school year. This makes it ideal for parents to choose whatever curriculum they want to utilize at home. Our partnership creates a well-rounded school year experience for each child. Students are assigned to a class for the school year where they develop friendships and travel from specialty teacher to specialty teacher through the day. Each Tuesday students enjoy classes in Music, Art, PE, Science Lab, Spanish, Social Studies (1-3) and Computer Lab (4-6). Pre-k and kindergarten are self contained classrooms and students stay with their teacher the entire day.
Please e-mail Discoveryhomeschool@gmail.com to schedule a tour to see DHA in action during the school year.
